What are the difference between Knit & Woven Corduroy?
When you stretch them, you look for loops or grains. Knit fabric has continuous yarn in looped repeatedly to create what looks like tiny rows of braids.
Woven fabric has multiple yarns cross each other at right angles to form the grain, like a basket
How do you test them?
Apply the stretch test method, check for wrinkle resistance & Inspect for edges.
1. Knit fabric stretched widely, its length stretches significantly (spandex), where most woven fabric can’t be stretch.
2. When you wad up a woven fabric, it usually wrinkles easily.
3. A knit is either sold as a tube or flat, On flat knits, factories apply round blobs of starch or glue along the lengthwise edges to prevent them from curling.
